A Bowen Treatment

Working on the whole back is a key part of a Bowen treatment.

A Bowen treatment can be done through clothing, but students find it easier to begin working directly on skin.

Ankle sprains and problems respond well to Bowen Therapy.

Realeasing adhesions in the fascia of the ankle allows the foot freer movement.

A Bowen Therapy treatment involves a series of transverse moves in key positions on the body. These moves release adhesions and restriction in the fascia (or connective tissue) under the skin and the surrounding muscles. There are short pauses between each set of moves to allow the fascia to release and rehydrate.

A large part of the course is hands on training, with lots of demonstration, explanation and time for practice.

One of the good parts of leanring is that everyone also receives a Bowen treatment.

Class size is kept small to ensure individualised attention fo each student.

The Manuals show detailed coloured diagrams so that students can follow each procedure easily when they practice after the class.

The comprehensive manuals give much additional information of the procedures, assessment and body mind links.

Every procedure is illustrated with anatomical diagrams.

Students learn thorough client record keeping and assessment skills to enhance their professional skills.

New Bowen Therapy classes begin in many locations in New Zealand and Australia throughout the year. Mark Hunter, Principal of New Zealand and South Island instructor, is teaching new moves as well as revising moves learnt in a previous course to a keen class of BT 2 students.

A Bowen treatment can be given anywhere - especially in NZ!

Student Cath Garden from Palmeston North combines her Equine Bowen treatments with treatment for the horses riders - in the place where the horses are most comfortable. It shows how portable your skills will be. Treatments can, and are, given anywhere. Even a treatment table isn't necessary.
